08/08/2007 - Cutting the ribs to fit

To make the HS404 fit it is necessary to cut away some of the flange so that it sits down onto the forward spar.  Junior hack saw, drill for corners, scotchbrite and it didnt take too long to accomplish.

Then it was necessary to straighten all the ribs using a method called fluting.  It sounds trickier in the book than it actually is.  When you flue the flange you can see the web straighten.
